Considered changing to soap nuts a couple of months back. Can you recommend a brand and how long have you fond they last?

Brilliant photos, each evoking pure pleasure; you have had a lovely time! I'm with you on the bread-making too, we eat mostly wholemeal or rye, or spelt, but I must admit there is something so lovely and silky about a bowl of white bread dough!
